THE MODIFIED BORDEN SPECIAL

This pattern has proven to be one of the most successful steelhead flies used by fly anglers on Vancouver Island. It is not pretentious to say that fish will go out of their way to take this fly. There are no words to
describe the success that has been associated with this pattern. It is effective in high water, discolored water and low water; when fishing for fresh summer fish or those slow to take winter fish. This is, for a number of anglers, the single most important pattern to have in the fly box.
