THE DIRTY BROWN

This is a simple pattern that presents a nice silhouette. The fly is pictured with very full hackle, but that can be reduced. This is a smaller spey type fly that has been effective.

Hook: 6 - 2
Tag: Flat silver tinsel
Body: Black seal dubbing over wrapped the spey hackle and reverse wrapped with silver wire, as appropriate. Note that the spey hackle is in place before the dubbing is applied. The dubbing is pulled out slightly.

Hackle: Black Spey Hackle (2 or 3 wraps) and 1 tan guinea or mallard flank. The spey hackle is wrapped over the dubbing.
