History of carsharing and

the Victoria Car Share Co-op

Some History

Introducing a new idea from Germany, Switzerland, Quebec City and Montreal, the Victoria Car Share Co-op launched its first vehicle in February 1997, in James Bay. The good news then spread in the neighboring communities, and new locations have been opened in Fernwood (at the Fernwood Auto, on Fernwood St.) and Fairfield (at the Shell station, corner of Cook and Fairfield St.).
